LEED Certified
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)
certification is highly desirable in today's energy aware
world. Lawson Electric participated in the construction of
River Street Architecture's new offices, the first LEED
certified project in Chattanooga. Other LEED certified
projects include Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Tennessee's
new corporate headquarters and Baylor School's Harrison
Dorm.
Photovoltaic (PV) Systems
Lawson Electric, in conjunction with BP Solar, furnished and
installed the solar array at Chattanooga's Finley Stadium --
the largest solar site in the entire Southeastern United
States. The 11 solar arrays, mounted on canopies which also
provide covering for one of the parking lots, produces about
127,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity a year. The solar
photovoltaic (PV) system began producing electricity for
Green Power Switch in July 2001. |
